General Fitness Client Testimonials
Brain Copeland is a top-notch instructor/trainer. His classes and his private instruction are life-impacting for me. He has helped remove pain from old injuries. He has given me numerous exercises, workout routines, and even recommendations for healthy food/protein drinks that help me live a very active lifestyle.
I trained with Brian in Kettlebells and Martial Arts for several years, and it completely transformed the way I approach health, fitness, and life. Brian is an innovator and a pioneer in the field, and his training methodology is next-level. It is rare if not impossible today to find this level of quality and value.
What can I say, God works in mysterious ways! I started taking self defense with Brian in December. I shortly thereafter started with the fitness, I’m glad I did. I have screws and rods in my back, and sound like Rice Krispies in the morning, lol, but I started training anyway. My mobility, strength, coordination, balance, power, are all improving. Not to mention I’m looking a little bit better too, not a bad side effect. This is proving to be life changing, I’m so glad I joined. If you have a desire for any of the things I mentioned above, please come here. The best part is it’s helping my pain!!! If you hurt, please come here. Now I’m just trying to get muscle and lose fat, and I am! Y’all come see us and get pumped!
Great Group of Folks
I have been going here for Kettlebell classes and martial arts. Great group of folks. Brian is very knowledgable and has helped me. Its a welcome change from the 24 hour fitness hamster wheels.

I cycled 150 miles for the first time!!
I want to thank you for your support in my very successful quest for the 2-day, 150 mile Bike MS tour. I did very little on-the-bike training this year, with only a handful of training rides under my belt. I’m convinced that it was Kettlebell training that made the difference. So thank you for all the 5 minute swing tests, all the deadlifts, pistols and front squats, all the Tabata drills (especially the Tabata’s!) and all the Z-health!
My knees thank you too, as I had NO knee pain on the bike for the first time in 3 years, while clocking more miles than in my past 2 attempts at this event!!
I have also gained a bragging husband. A motorcycle trooper who was volunteering on the route came up next to us on one of the bigger climbs. Scott jokingly made a gesture to him about them switching bikes. The trooper said if Scott could get 5 miles ahead of me then they could switch bikes, but that he was rooting for me. My husband said, “I know, have you seen those guns on her?” He then asked me to tell the trooper what I dead lift. I’m a small-framed woman at 5’4″ and I get a kick out of shocking people by telling them that I dead lift 194 lbs, which is 1 & 1/2 times my body weight! And I love that my husband gets a kick out of bragging like that.
To top it all off, I had a massage therapist compliment me this weekend. A friend of our team captain came up to give chair massages to the team on Saturday. She told me that I was so toned it was difficult to tell on me what was a toned muscle vs. a tight muscle!!
Saying I’m thrilled with all this is an understatement. A word to the women out there who think that they can’t lift that much, or do a certain exercise – yes you can!! And you won’t get bulky, masculine muscles doing so. You’ll get people noticing and complimenting you on how toned you look and you’ll get the confidence to try things you never thought you could do.

Awesome Trainer!
I have been working with Brian for a year now, and I continue to be amazed at his depth of knowledge and commitment to his students. Over the last year Brian has helped me change my attitude towards weight work, and exercise in general. The comments I get about how good I look and how much weight I have lost aren’t bad either.
After I had been working out for about six months my wife started coming with me, and recently our daughter also started taking some classes. Brian excels at teaching my daughter the basics, keeping her interested and at the same time making sure my wife and I get the attention we need to maintain our technique and learn new exercises. He always has a new way to terrorize us (insert evil laugh) and we continue to enjoy the class.
I have complete trust in Brian’s ability to analyze your physical condition and develop a workout the first protects you and then helps you heal as you get stronger, fitter, and toned.
Thanks Brian!

Now I’m Pain-Free!
I originally discovered Brian because a coworker of mine was seeing phenomenal improvements in her body so I asked her how she was doing it.
When I first started training with Brian I was so out of shape that any amount of activity would cause pain. First some background. I was in a bad car accident 20 years ago and as a result my T1-T10 spine is fused and I have rods in L3-S1. On top of that I had severe shoulder pain and knee pain.
Every day I would wake up wondering where I would hurt; this was before training with Brian.
I had been in physical therapy for years and as long as I kept up with it I could keep the pain manageable but that is hardly living life; I didn’t want to be in “rehab” my whole life!
After only a short time training with Brian I started to notice tremendous changes. I had no more pain all over my body. I got amazing improvement in flexibility and range of motion in my bad shoulders. My energy level has increased dramatically and my endurance is astounding.
I have learned to listen to my body and how to use that for improvement rather than it keeping me down.
Brian has helped me in so many more ways, from overall health, skin, energy, attitude, even improved my outlook on life.
There is no greater gift someone can give than to improve one’s quality of life and Brian does that for me every day. There isn’t enough that can be said about him because every day he impresses me with his knowledge, ability to teach and caring not only in regard to fitness but toward people as well.
BEFORE = Daily pain, fused spine and couldn’t lift my arm overhead
NOW = (several months later) Snatching and pressing a 44 lb kettlebell pain-free, deadlifting more than my body-weight, and squatting two 53 lb kettlebells rock bottom all pain-free! I even got my first pull-up tonight!

Brian Is The Best!
Brian Copeland is a great teacher. He keeps his focus while training and doesn’t waste any time getting down to business. He pushes you just enough and yet he makes sure that your form is perfect to keep everyone safe. But the best thing about Brian is that you can tell he is really passionate about what he is doing; he really cares. I am totally hooked on Kettlebells now!

Brian is a Kettlebell Master!
He is an excellent teacher who doesn’t push you too hard like a personal trainer. The training goes smooth. My strength is up in my shoulders, biceps, back, quads and glutes. My posture is even better and I’m stronger over all.

The work is hard but the results are worth it.
I began working with Brian to recover from a heart attack. Not only is my heart and cardio in great condition but I’m stronger, fitter and have more mobility in my joints.

Pain-Free after 2 long years
I finally made an appointment with Brian after two long years of excruciating back pain, emergency room visits and doctor consults that lead to no help. There are no words to express my gratefulness for his expertise! He is excellent at listening to you, targeting the problem and giving great techniques to minimizing or eliminating pain. In addition, he helps in retraining your brain and strengthening the areas that have become weak. I finally feel back to normal, pain free and excited to participate in all the activities that I love!

Low Back Pain Gone
My Chiropractor referred me to Brian and kettlebells. I was looking to improve my core strength and reduce the pain in my lower back. I have seen definite improvements in both, as well as I have decreased the pain I had in my shoulders.
I really like the strength I get from kettlebells and how it translates into everyday activities, it makes them easier. I would absolutely recommend that you train with Brian!

From Back Pain to Super Strength!
I was in disbelief of my ability to perform this well after suffering for so many years from a back injury!
Before training with Brian lifting a grocery bag would cause pain, now I am deadlifting heavy weights with zero pain!

Working with Brian Has Been Life Changing
Brian Copeland is the real deal – a great teacher, with a great knowledge of anatomy, what leads to better performance, and motivation. I needed physical therapy from a mild traumatic brain injury, but Brian never treated me like a broken person, he made me feel like an athlete with skills to learn. Focusing and learning are difficult for me now, but he was an engaging instructor, helped me take notes, and suggested further reading for topics of interest to me. I’m accomplishing basic things, but feel empowered like an Olympian! Brian is the fifth physical therapist I’ve needed for my recovery but he is the first one to truly work with my fatigue and neurological issues. It’s not going to far to say that working with Brian has been life-changing!

In Less Than 45 Minutes, Patrick Had Full Extension in His Injured Elbow
Patrick had flown over his handlebars in October of 09, and almost five months later the injury to his elbow persisted which inhibited his ability to train and workout.
A beginners kettlebell class was starting at Copeland’s Core Fitness, and we really wanted to start. I made a call to Brian and told him about Patrick’s injury.
Brian encouraged Patrick to book a Z-Health training session and told us that he was almost 90% sure that he could fix Patrick’s injury.
We were hopeful and booked the appointment.
In less then 45 minutes, Patrick had full extension in his injured elbow.
Now, we are ready to start our kettlebell training, and… are practicing Z-Health everyday!

After only 3-4 weeks I saw incredible results
I had my 2nd child about 6 1/2 months ago. I tried so hard to get back into shape but never saw the results that I wanted (not even remotely close to my before any baby shape and size).
After only 3-4 weeks on this routine I saw incredible results, I lost inches off my whole body! I was extremely motivated at this point because I lost 2 inches from my “tummy pooch” (anyone who has had a baby knows what I’m talking about!). I was amazed that I saw results like that in less than a month! Suddenly I had more energy and a boost of self confidence!
I can’t even start to tell you how many people have commented on how great I look.
Recently I was cleaning my closet and stumbled upon my favorite “skinny” shorts, I thought, what the heck, let me try them on to see how much farther I have to go to fit into them. I was ecstatic when they slipped right on and I was able to button them up without sucking my gut in!
There’s nothing like the feeling of being able to fit back into those “skinny” jeans that are hiding in your closet! Bottom line is, I’m not stuck at the gym for hours, I’m having tons more fun working out and I’m seeing incredible results. I went from a size 9/10 to 4/5 in these few months. If you want results, contact Brian, he’ll do what it takes as long as you do too!

Lost Over 25 lbs and 6% Body Fat!
I was at an awards ceremony for work. I was filmed on video a couple of months earlier while giving a nomination for a coworker; this was right before Brian started training me. Well when my nominee was announced as the winner they played my video showing me with my former body, I happened to be standing right next to it while it played. After the ceremony people kept coming up to me commenting on how much weight I had lost and how great I looked. I lost over 25 lbs and over 6% of body fat. My strength and muscle tone went up also. Brian rocks!

Decreased my triglycerides and overall cholesterol by over 150 points
I took my first cholesterol test in over a year and decreased my triglycerides and overall cholesterol by over 150 points for both total cholesterol and triglycerides. this is the first big improvement I have seen in a decade. I attribute it to the kettlebells and a modified diet that Brian gave me.

Lost Over 40 lbs and Triglycerides Levels are Normal!
I have been training with Brian for a year now. What makes Brian process unique is he takes the time to find exercises that you enjoy that still work towards meeting your goals.
He also uses his Z-Health expertise to help you in numerous ways. Such as an nerve mobility drill that released chronic ankle pain that prevented me from climbing stairs.

Professionals & Athlete Client Testimonials
I feel 100% comfortable sending my patients to Brian. His knowledge base is exceptional and his attention to detail is phenomenal.
If you suffer from a previous weakness, Brian will find it and make it strong.
Brian keeps his training lively and challenging. Who would guess that working out could be fun? Well it actually is! Plus the results speak for themselves. At first I was hesitant with Kettlebells, but in studying the ideas behind the movements and feeling what the movements do for me I am now 100% for Kettlebell training.
I would recommend Kettlebell training to anyone who truly wants to, as Brian puts it “Train like an athlete not a hamster”.

I am stronger, leaner and fitter than I have ever been
I am an emergency and sports medicine physician. I have trained with Brian in both kettlebells and self-defense for approximately 6 months. And I can say without question they have been the most effective and valuable techniques I have ever seen. The workouts are short, quick and simple! I used to bike, run and lift for hours. Now I work strictly with kettlebells and I am stronger, leaner and fitter than I have ever been… all in 20 minutes 3 times a week! As Brian says “do you want to train like an athlete or a hamster?”
Brian’s kettlebell and self-defense instruction is always professional, easy to understand and fun… and the results speak for themselves. Not only am I more fit from Brian’s kettlebell training, but I also feel infinitely safer and more confident from his self defense training.
If you are training for a specific sport or just want to be more fit, feel safer and more confident about yourself, Brian is your man!

A Gifted Instructor
Brian is a gifted instructor with a keen eye for form and for what can work for each individual. Not only does he bring enthusiasm and a sense of humor to his training, but a wide understanding of joint, muscle anatomy and function which is so important for injury prevention and rehab.
If Brian’s martial arts and sports background, combined with his first hand experience with severe back injury and his own incredible recovery into a pain free ‘strong man’ isn’t enough, his ever increasing physical knowledge base – which now includes material written on grip training – makes him the right man to work with. I recommend his training and coaching style highly for anyone who is interested in pursuing kettlebells, strength and fitness!

National Olympic Weightlifting Competitor Feels the Power!
I recently had the privilege of training one afternoon with RKC and Z-Health instructors Jason Wood and Brian Copeland. As an Olympic-style weightlifter with national-level competition under my belt, I was already strong and flexible, but these men and their expert techniques helped spot some significant areas for improvement in my squat. The importance of this insight cannot be overstated, as the squat movement is at the heart of every Olympic-style lift. Within a few minutes of analysis they were able to spot one leg bowing in towards my center, and a few Z-health techniques later, I was able to feel the joints loosening. Under their instruction I reached the point where it was like a light flipped on in my nervous system, and I said, “Aha!” and realized what I’d been doing wrong all this time. They were able to recommend movement patterns and related drills that will undoubtedly be of great benefit in the future of my training, for both greater strength and healthier knee joints. I highly recommend instructors Jason Wood and Brian Copeland for learning how kettlebell and Z-health methods can and will work for you.

Won the soccer tournament with no knee pain!
Ben the law student here. Just wanted to tell you that I’ve been doing Z-Health and training with the kettlebells three or four times a week for the last 6 weeks based on what you taught me when I came to Colorado and learned from you.
My old knee injury seems to have gone away, and I actually feel taller. Here’s the cool part though: this Saturday, I played in a city-wide 16 team soccer tournament with the LAW SCHOOL soccer team. We had to play 5 games of 45 minutes on Saturday.
Well, we won the thing, and I was running around all over the field right until the last minute of the 5th game. Meanwhile, everyone else was cramping, limping, slowing down. I haven’t done any running or other fitness whatsoever, but my legs just kept going. I guess kettlebell swings really do give you legs that never die. And it was pretty nice to see the looks on the faces of the 18-21 year old club teams when they got their asses kicked by the law school team.

I am very happy that I spent that time with Brian.
About 2 months before I was headed off to my RKC training, I wanted to get some extra help and feedback from another RKC instructor. I was suffering from some external impingement in my shoulder – not good if you are going to a 3 day RKC training.
When I visited and had my session with Brian he had typed up a page of information to help me get ready for RKC and protect/strengthen my shoulder. He took time to check each one of my exercises and give solid feedback on each one.
His tips really paid off. I am 2 days away from going to MINN. and I am all in 1 piece!
Brian is very clear with his teaching cues and offers very helpful feedback. He is patient and takes his instruction very seriously.

Able to See Immediate Results
Brian Copeland changed my entire prespective on training and nutrition after just one session. Not only was I able to see immediate results but the knowledge, sincerity, and eagerness to help me succeed were uncanny. I highly recommend anyone who is lookng for a change from trainiers who just count reps work with Brian.

Pain-Free and Inspired!
First off I am a certified Personal Trainer and I highly recommend Brian Copeland as a Personal Trainer. He has so much knowledge of effective training that only comes from years of experience and hard work. When I need help training my clients I go to Brian for his knowledge.
Years ago I was involved in two back-to-back car accidents that caused me severe injuries in my neck and lower back. My pain was so bad that I could not even ride in a car as the bumps caused so much pain. I went to some physical therapists but never saw any real results. I thought I was doomed to spend an eternity in pain and immobility. Luckily I knew Brian. Brian showed me some simple daily exercises that allowed me to gradually progress in my recovery. At first I didn’t believe these simple exercises would work, I wasn’t working very hard at all. But within what seemed like a short amount of time I noticed the following results; I could do a full squat all the way to the floor, my ankles, which had been very weak, were now strong and flexible and were no longer crooked from the car accident. I could pick things up, ride in a car and best of all I didn’t have the pain anymore.
Then I was hooked, not wanting to stop there I had Brian show me more. Now I can do 8 ‘guy-pushups’ on my toes! I was so inspired by the ability to help people I decided to go to school to become a personal trainer.
Thanks Brian!

Technique Comes First
I have a B.S. in Exercise Science and am studying to become a CHEK practitioner. I purchased some kettlebells for some variety in training for my clients and myself. I purchased some private sessions with Brian after a referral from a friend. I thought Brian could show me a couple pointers as how to properly train with kettlebells.
By the fist lesson I learned that I had greatly underestimated the intricacies of true kettlebell training. I was so impressed with Brain and the RKC system of training that I am going to get certified this summer. To help me prepare Brian developed a home program that I have no doubt will get me where I need to be in time for the certification.
As a fitness professional I would highly recommend Brian not only for his kettlebell knowledge, but also his knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and his easy to follow teaching style.

I continue to be amazed how I’m feeling
Brian Copeland and the Z-Health System have been enormously valuable in helping me overcome chronic pain. For years I’ve dealt with pain: back pain, shoulder pain, and most recently Achilles pain and plantar fasciitis. I’ve explored physical therapy, chiropractic, accupuncture, various massage methods and just about everything else that should’ve helped me eliminate my pain. The Z-Health System has taken me forward with great leaps. And now that I’ve worked with Brian, I’ve moved far further forward than I could have on my own. Schedule a session with him right now if you want to feel and perform better.

110 Snatches in 5 minutes with a 53 lb kettlebell!
I began working with Brian about a year ago after reading his posts on the Dragondoor forum. I don’t live anywhere near him, but I chose him because I could tell he knew what he was talking about, his advice is level-headed, and he was always respectful on the forum. At first I paid to have him set up a training regimen for me that I was using for much of the last year.
I finally flew out to see him and received excellent 1-on-1 instruction on technique.
When I signed up for the RKC cert in Philly, I called Brian right away. I had 9 weeks to prepare. Brian set me up with a strict diet of the 6 moves they teach and I was off to “practice” my strength. He followed the Light-Med-Heavy pattern we know from Pavel’s work, but he streamlined it to passing the RKC. By the time came for the RKC, I had passed the snatch test 5 times on my own, with my best being 110 reps in 5 mins. I showed up at the event with the knowledge that I would own 100, and I did.
For anyone that has been through an RKC knows, the snatch test is the first 5 minutes of 3 days of hell. Beyond the fact that my hands and forearms hurt too bad to close after the first day and about 3,000 swings, I really did feel prepared. Brian, with his background in Z-Health and KB’s, made sure my training was precise, but also made sure that I showed up fresh and able to nail the 6 moves with a calm body. He made me train fresh and rock the Z-Health. I would say that I felt as physically prepared as one can feel for such a challenging 3 days. I would recommend Brian to anyone who wants a to nail down their strength and fitness goals.

Testimonial from Thailand
Before saying anything, let me introduce myself, my name is Wannipat Bauted, a Physical Therapist and Professor of PT in Thailand. I’ve got chance to visit Brian’s studio since the end of June and these made me know much more about Kettlebell, in spite of I never know this special tool before, and learnt more his techniques how he recovered his pain from “Herniated Disc”.
I’d like to give this testimonial to Brian who is a great kettlebell trainer and specialist in the knowledge strength and conditioning. Moreover, he fix his problem by himself, when he suffered from his low back pain in the terrible experience for a long period in past. When I visit him, he gave me other choices of treatments in decreasing back pain and share his knowledge that he learn from healing himself and his clients.
I can confirm that by his knowledge and experiences that he’s learned more in his life, which can help people who have these problem as well. No one knows how to recover themselves when they got that pain but Brian did.
As physicians and Physical Therapists we learn all about biomechanics of human body and learn all of the theories but we often don’t have the knowledge or experience of how to fix back problem. Why? Because having experience and special knowledge is very important. Brian learnt from working with his own body and then used that experience to help his clients.
In fact, no one is keen on everything, even an excellent physician could give the wrong concept of treatment to you or he might try to give you trial and error treatment. It would be great if you are a luckily person who received a correct treatment that would be matching with yours symptoms, but if not then you are in trouble. By allowing yourself to receive the right ways of treatment from the person who had these experiences himself you will be in a much better position.
For me, I only hope that you guys, who are suffering from the bad experiences like Brian used to, probably give you more choices of treatment for yourselves. No one knows before they try to test the thing and got the real experience by themselves.
I apply some part of Brian’s techniques to my patients, and you know what? It works! Therefore, kettlebells will probably work for you: in addition, you probably gain more and get more beneficial advantage from your great trainer, Brian.
