Green Smoothie

By Brian Copeland

Green Smoothie

We need to eat more vegetables, yadda, yadda, yadda. I get it. But eating a lot of vegetables can be difficult to do, maybe you don't have time or don't like the taste, etc.

You are an adult, so grow up!

Here is a quick way to get tons of healthy vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytonutrients to support weight loss, muscle building, boost your immune system, make your joints feel better, improve athletic performance and prevent disease.

I warn you this is pretty radical for most people... but if being average made you healthy and look good naked then everyone would be, right?

Ingredients:

  • You will need a good blender, I use a KitchenAid, some of my clients use a VitaMix which is quite pricey
  • 1 bunch of kale or spinach (use stalks and leaves, wash thoroughly)
  • 1 cucumber (I leave the skin on but wash all of the wax off or buy a wax-free cucumber)
  • 1 lemon (I use a knife to roughly remove most of the yellow but leave the white on)
  • 1 Granny Smith apple (remove core)
  • 2 Tablespoons of organic lime juice or a lime
  • Water and or ice as needed for thinning

Optional Ingredients:

  • 3 raw organic eggs (for protein and other nutrients, yes raw eggs are healthy)
  • Fresh or frozen cranberries to taste (good for kidney health)
  • Handful of fresh parsley
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • Feel free to experiment with other fruits and vegetables
  • Don't go crazy and add all of these optional ingredients at once, the flavor will be too much

Calories Per Serving 84 - 140+/- calories!!!

  • 1 bunch of kale = 70
  • 1 cucumber = 45
  • 1 lemon = 17
  • 1 Granny Smith apple = 80
  • 3 raw organic eggs = 210
  • Total Calories = 422
  • Assuming 3 servings divided by 422 = 140 calories per serving!!!
  • Assuming 5 servings divided by 422 = 84 calories per serving!!!

Directions:

  1. Wash all vegetables

  2. Place all ingredients in the blender and mix first and then puree (add the liquid ingredients first to help the blending. Lemon, cucumber, lime juice, apple and then mix it, now add the kale and it should mix much easier.)

  3. Before you remove from the blender, test the thickness, if you want it thinner then add some water or more lime juice

  4. You should get 3 large glassfuls out of this, drink one glass now, place the other glasses in the fridge with plastic wrap over them and drink them within the next 3 days
